If you’re looking to make the switch from smoking to vaping but can’t find a vape store in your area then you will totally benefit from shopping online. However, it’s important to know exactly what you’re looking for as a first-time vaper.

There are heaps of great vaporisers out there, including the legendary Geekvape Aegis Boost, and they each come with their own specialities that make them winners for vape newcomers.

Here are some questions you should ask before buying your first vape online:

  1. What type of appendage do I want?

What kind of vaporiser do you want to inhale? Are you looking for a box mod, pen or pod-type vaporiser? Pen and pod vapes are similar and incredibly easy to use: you have an LED indicator and fire button. These will tell you if there are any problems with your coil-pod and where your battery levels are at.

Box mods can be more suited to your style and you can even adjust your wattage, meaning you can turn the power up and down. If you use more wattage, you will produce a bigger cloud with more flavour as well as feel it more in your throat.

Therefore, if you want more control over your vaping, then the box mod is the way to go! There will be a pop up on the screen if there is a problem with your coil and you can also see your battery levels.

  1. Do you want mouth-to-lung or direct lung vape?

The next thing you need to ask is what kind of vape inhale you want. Do you want a direct lung (DL) or mouth-to-lung (MTL) vape inhale? DL inhale is like taking a long drawn breath where MTL mimics that of cigarette smoke. If you’re wanting to give up smoking but want your vape to mimic it then the MTL is the way to go.

Many websites will have categories for DL and MTL vapes, but otherwise you can follow this rule:

  • If the coils are approximately 0.6ohm – 1.8ohm and recommended under 20w then they are most likely MTL;
  • If the coils are 0.1ohm – 0.6ohm and recommended above 20w then they are most likely DL.
  1. Do you want an external or internal battery device?

Having an internal battery in your vape is just like charging your mobile, where you let it sit on charge for a while. With an external battery device it is recommended that you charge your batteries with an external battery charger. You will experience far more expansive battery life with external batteries, and you can also pick up spare sets of batteries for rotation, meaning you will never have to wait to charge your vape.

  1. Will your vape be bag or pocket friendly?

This isn’t really a big deal, but you might want something that is easily transportable for, say, when you head out for the night, or you might not really care otherwise. Vapes come in a range of shapes and sizes, and if you’re typically someone who smokes cigarettes when out and about then you might want something compact for those social moments.

  1. What kind of liquid do you want?

Now it’s time to decide on what kind of vape liquid you want! There are so many delicious flavours out there, from the fruity to the dessert-y, so choose a flavour that is most suitable for your palette.
