Technology played a vital role in opening paths to new industries and positions, especially in e-commerce, hospitality, food tech, education, fintech, ridesharing, and logistics. But, 2020 was a horrible year for the education sector because the COVID-19 pandemic caused universities, schools, and institutes to be closed off. The education budget is a ray of hope in these turbulent times. So, the entire nation has been faced with the difficulties imposed by Covid-19. Education was a priority in Budget 2021, but edtech start-ups predicted additional funding allocations, GST reduction, and other specific sector privileges.

There were promising unique budgetary instances of 2021-22 focusing on education. After the pandemic, it became necessary to develop the technical capabilities to remain essential in the workforce. Nirmala Sitharaman, Indian Finance Minister, said in her Budget 2021-22 speech that the country’s youth have a wealth of skills, and it needs proper channeling.

In addition to the campaign, the Government proposed changes to the Apprenticeship Act. With a budget allocation of 3,000 crores set aside for the current scheme of the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), the Government provides the country’s youth with sufficient apprenticeship opportunities.

The Central Government has concentrated upon the growth of skills and redevelopment of youth and is a crucial factor in India achieving its maximum potential. Today isn’t an ancient India. India today wants to do what it dreams of and go to the top. India will rely a lot on its people’s education and skills to become self-reliant and an economy of $5 billion. Therefore, the Government is very committed to this. It is taking several steps to empower the people and particularly their young people, through its different PM Modi Ji programs.

Skills and knowledge are the two top-most driving forces of economic growth and social progress for every country. In India, it becomes ever more critical that the Government focuses on developing skills. These skills must be appropriate for the evolving economic climate, as it increasingly becomes a knowledge economy.

Many institutions welcome the Rs 3,000 Crore allocation to realign the current National Apprenticeship Training Scheme to provide post-education apprenticeship to engineering and diploma holders. It helps develop employable potential and has the right qualifications to ensure professionals are ready to work.

The joint training program TITP is a successful movie, which offers the students the chance to gain technical skills, techniques, and experience in Japanese industries. The establishment of the National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR) within the NEP to further advance the Digital First Mindset initiative is also reassuring. It provides pathways to broader educational preparation, governance, and other activities to boost the educational ecosystem.

Final verdict

After 2020, we saw technology’s role as a centerpiece, opening up new jobs and rising demand for a technically trained workforce. The Union budget has submitted practical proposals to allow potential employees to be technically skilled. Investments by the Government in a robust framework, including the training and upgrading of engineering graduates, diploma holders, and increased emphasis on non-science technology students, would help pave the way for creating a new typical employee. Domestic edtech companies play an outstanding role in the technology industry in offering job-ready talent to future innovations.

Aiming at enhancing emerging technology will help build a world-class education ecosystem in the country and provide potential Indian professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to manage tomorrow’s data-driven world.
